Connecting your computer to WiFi

Whether you’re on Windows or a Mac, find out how you can get connected to your WiFi...

 
 

Windows 8

  1. From the desktop screen, click the WiFi icon in the notification tray at the bottom (right next to the clock)

    (Don't see the WiFi icon? You may need to click on the small arrow to expand the notification tray)
  2. A list of available WiFi networks will appear
  3. Click on your WiFi network and make sure the box saying ‘Connect automatically’ is ticked, then click: Connect
  4. Enter your WiFi password (located under your Hub) and click: Next

Windows 10

  1. Open the Start menu by clicking on the Windows logo at the bottom left of your screen, choose: Settings, then: Network and Internet. Or, click the WiFi icon in the notification tray at the bottom of your screen next to the clock.

    (Don't see the WiFi icon? You may need to click on the small arrow to expand the notification tray)
  2. Choose the WiFi option to see all available WiFi networks
  3. Click on your WiFi network, and make sure the box saying: ‘Connect automatically’ is ticked before you click: Connect
  4. Enter your WiFi password and click: Next

Apple Mac or Macbooks

  1. Click the AirPort wireless icon in the top right of your screen, near the clock.

    (If you can't see this icon, you'll need to connect to your WiFi by going to the top left of your screen, then clicking on the Apple System Preferences > Network AirPort)

    Got an older Mac?
    You need to go through Applications Internet Connections
  2. Click your network name
  3. Enter the WiFi password, then click: Join

Windows 7

  1. Click on the WiFi icon at the bottom of your screen next to the clock
  2. Click on your chosen WiFi network, then press: Connect
  3. Enter the password for your WiFi network
  4. Click: OK

Windows Vista or Windows XP

  1. Click the Start button from the bottom left of your screen, and then click: Connect to
  2. Click the wireless network you want to connect to, and then: Connect
  3. Enter your WiFi password
  4. Click: Connect

Linux / Ubuntu

  1. Click on the System Menu on the right hand side at the top of your screen
  2. Select the WiFi option
  3. Click on the name of your WiFi network, enter your WiFi password and click: Connect
